Dr. Meredith B. Wilson

"I want my time with my clients and patients to be interactive with the goal of forming a client - veterinarian team that can best serve our unconditionally loving companions. It is my hope that after I leave an appointment my client feels assured that together we can provide the best possible care for their beloved pets."

Dr. Wilson has over 20 years experience in the veterinary profession and is currently the first and only Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Veterinarian in NYC, after completing an 18-month certification program in 2018. Hospice and palliative care was a natural complement to her house call practice and has helped to meet many of her house call patients’ needs.

She started her career as an animal kennel attendant while attending Villanova University and gradually climbed the ranks to become a veterinary technician, then graduated from Oklahoma State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. After graduation she pursued an Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital finishing in 2004. She remained in private practice until 2013 when she felt a new calling and decided to found Wilson Home Veterinary Care, LLC.

Dr. Meredith Wilson is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), and the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care, (IAAHPC). She lives with her husband and two cats, Garfunkel and Aruba, and when not working can often be found on the tennis court.

Dr. Wilson is great - her love for animals is unquestionable, she is professional, super informative and provides amazing care - and the best part is she comes to your home so you can avoid the uncomfortable trip (for you and your pet!) to the vet's office. She has taken care of our cat Buddy since we adopted him two years ago, and delivers a level of service that is superior to traditional veterinarian visits. We highly recommend her.

Pugs -- especially "show quality" Pugs -- are notorious for having health issues. Since I'm now sharing life with the third of these glorious (albeit delicate) creatures, I have had plenty of experience with veterinarians of all kinds and levels of expertise. Dr. Wilson is one of the very best I've encountered. Smart, knowledgeable and compassionate, she merits the highest of recommendations. Moreover, the fact that she makes home visits is a major plus. And my Pug likes her a lot.

Dr. Wilson is an exceptional veterinarian. She is knowledgeable, caring, and extremely devoted to her work. She never hurries away from our appointments, taking time to patiently answer my many questions as an overprotective dad. I have no doubt my dog is in very good hands.

Dr. Wilson provided excellent care to our cat. Even though we were new patients, Dr. Wilson generously squeezed us in and spent as much time as she needed to examine our cat and explain her findings. Highest recommendation!!

Most important was the time taken to get to know my pet through my reporting. Cat was nervous, but very compliant indicating she was comfortable with handling her which was firm but gentle and attentive to her movements. It was a good and successful experience in the home environment.
